ROGUE OVERLAND EXPEDITION 2024
It’s the time of the year again where we get ready for our annual Rogue Overland Expedition and we promise, you’re not going to want to miss out on this one! The event is scheduled for May 2, 2024 through May 5, 2024, with it starting in Beatty, NV and ending around the Ely, NV area. This year’s adventure takes on an explorer’s route winding our way from Western Nevada and onwards through Central Nevada…culminating near the elusive Area 51.
As you see above, we will be heading t our backyard in Nevada this year. This will be a first for the Rogue Team to guide the expedition through our home turf. The trip will be filled with a mix of payment and dirt…I know we are not the biggest fans of too much windshield time on the tarmac…but we will always try to make the most of it.
Our adventure will be filled with reliving the past of old timers and quest for the shiny stuff they used to hint through the caverns and mountains of Nevada…giving it the lustrous name of “The Silver State”. We will have an opportunity to see many Ghost Towns through this trip and see some beautiful mountain ranges and forests…YES, Nevada has forested areas.
This trip will also be taking us along the infamous “Pony Express Train” and wind our way to the north side of the Nevada Test & Training Range (NTTR). Factoid - The NTTR hosts the largest National Wildlife Refuge in the Continental United States. Being this close to the NTTR as we wind down the trip, it should give us a reasonable opportunity to possibly see some Extra-Terrestrials, especially as we drive along the Extra-Terrestrial Highway on our closing day.
As usual we will be having our potluck dinner within the first night of the trip. We will also limiting the sign up to 25 rigs, with no exceptions. This trip will fill up fast and when it does we will start a wait list with anyone else interested. Once we have sold 75% of the spots, we will send a personal email to each individual with your username and password. Please be on the look out for this. The forum will hold the key to additional details of the trip…meet location, column assignments, firewood details, camping information, etc…
We are not ones to put too many restriction on our Rogue Overland trips, however for this year’s expedition we will be able to accommodate all-wheel drive vehicles and two-wheel drive vehicles. With this in mind, all vehicles will need to be equipped at a minimum with skid plates, a spare tire, a set of tools, air compressor, fire extinguisher and a VHF 2-meter radio (144-148 MHz). It is also recommended individuals have and carry spare parts; specific to their vehicle.
